Complementary therapies are treatments and activities that you can have along with your standard medical treatment to try and feel better. Complementary Therapies have been found to greatly enhance the emotional and physical well- being of people with a cancer diagnosis.
Members can avail of a range of complementary therapies from our therapists who are trained specifically to work with people living with a cancer diagnosis.

People living with cancer may experience anxiety, fear, anger, trauma, sadness and depression. These feelings can occur at any time during their cancer journey – even months or years later. It can be very useful to speak to someone who is not personally involved, you can tell them things that you may otherwise wish to keep private.
A counsellor will be able to provide emotional support by allowing you express your feelings and fears. A counsellor won’t tell you what to do, but will help you see things differently and find your way through a difficult time.
Talking to someone confidentially to discuss a difficulty in your life can be a real help as you go through your cancer journey.
Crocus offers a Free confidential Counselling and Psychotherapy Service to our members and their families and also Play Therapy/Childrens Councselling to the children of our members. Our counsellors are fully qualified and accredited.
You don’t need to have a serious problem to get counselling, if you’re finding it hard to cope for any reason, then counselling can help.
Crocus have their own vehicle “The Crocus Cruiser” which is available to members to assist them in getting to their cancer related medical appointments.
This is a wonderful service that we are able to provide to our members and removes the stress that can be associated with getting to appointments.
Crocus have their own volunteer drivers, who will collect the member and take them to and from their hospital appointment. The service is completely free for members of Crocus
